North Yorkshire Moors Railway
I had the privilege of documenting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway recently www.nymr.co.uk/ The idea was to capture a more intimate view of the railway. This began with a 5am start at the engine shed photographing the engines being fired up – great for atmosphere (although not so great for light for a while)! Beautiful scenery throughout and riding on the engine footplate from Pickering to the summit on the edge of all that raw power was a unique experience. Below are a selection of images from the day.
London In The Smog
Had a great day in London shooting for a client of the excellent Leadout Projects http://leadoutprojects.com/ Part of the brief was to capture some shots of London. I wanted to get some high up shots and opted for the Shard’s “open air” (it’s not!) viewing gallery. The super smoggy day wasn’t ideal but it did add a lovely diffused other worldly feel.

The Dancing Years
I’ve always been fascinated by the film making process so I jumped at the opportunity to be involved with the making of The Dancing Years video for their new single. Even better the film involved playing football. And even better the film was being produced by the talented Ogden brothers of High Six Media. Their story telling style films resonate with what I love to do as a photographer. Spending the day in Leeds shooting it on a blustery day in early summer with a brilliant mishmash of cast was great fun. The Wedding of Jason and Miranda (sneak preview)
This was a great wedding. Temperatures in the high 20’s, about 12 people trying to get ready in one room before the ceremony at one point, horses, a lovely church and a great set of family and friends. Not to mention Jason and Miranda and their five ace kids! In the interests of honesty it was a bit more relaxed where Miranda was getting compared to where Jason was getting ready but then again that might have been to do with the glasses of champagne Miranda’s mum was offering to everyone. This was a really special day and hopefully the images below capture something of the story of their day.
