Here are some more portraits from the current brand boosting course. People are literally travelling from all around the country to attend these courses run in Sheffield http://www.keepyourfork.co.uk/ As ever the aim with these simple portraits is to capture people naturally and to give them a profile shot that can help with the presentation of their business.
This is probably the best fruit cake I have ever tasted!! I recently met the lovely Jane Stammers (head cook, bottle washer and founder!) and we organised a photo shoot. Below are a handful of the shots of the sumptuous home made cakes as well as a portrait of Jane herself in the Wadsley Hall Farm kitchen. If you’re interested in ordering a treat for yourself or an original gift have a look at www.reallygreatfruitcake.co.uk/
A couple of weeks ago I was given the commission to photograph Sophie Maxwell for the cover of her new book “The £1.80 Sandwich” (available at Amazon as a Kindle download – print version available from next week). Solopreneur Publishing had a specific brief for the shoot, the result of which can be seen on the back cover below. I only got to meet Sophie very briefly but the photo seems to capture something of the real her. As I’ve said before on this blog I love to tell stories. Whilst the real story is to be found in the book which I think will be a very good read, I like to think that both of these images of Sophie capture something of her and her story. Her look, her pose, her eyes and the even the background all add to this in my opinion.
It was more like November than May but there was still a heady mixture of tranquility, peace, a biting wind and sore muscles as another learn to row course progresses at Sheffield Rowing Club http://www.sheffieldrowing.co.uk/.
A great article today about Chrysalis http://www.chrysalisconsortium.co.uk/. Plus two photos in the centre pages of the Sheffield Star.
A couple more brand booster portraits from Faye’s exceptional course teaching local businesses about branding and marketing. If you’re interested in booking a place on the next six week course starting soon, check out http://www.keepyourfork.co.uk/
Here are some portraits from Faye’s excellent brand boosting course http://www.keepyourfork.co.uk/. Faye has an exceptional insight, energy and passion to promote local businesses through her vast experience and contacts with the media. Faye comments on one of her worksheets “In the last few months I’ve built the brand of many local business people as I’ve been marketing their businesses, and almost without question the photos they have offered me have ranged from average, through poor to utterly atrocious”. The portraits shown here are taken at the Prince of Wales (http://www.theprinceofwalessheffield.co.uk/) where the brand boosting course is run, using natural light and aim to offer business owners high quality and natural portraits to help with the presentation of their business.
Chrysalis Consortium http://www.chrysalisconsortium.co.uk/ have been running a campaign in the local press this month advertising their new fostering service. Included in their advertising is this photo of my eldest boy Thomas taken a couple of summers ago. Do get in touch using the link if you or anyone you know, is interested in fostering.
It was great to get away as a family over Easter. At the risk of sounding a bit cliche, having no mobile signal or internet access but instead being surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales countryside felt refreshing and calming. In the evenings when we managed to get little Finn to stay asleep for five minutes I managed to nip out and experiment taking photos in the ever changing light on top of the hill where we were staying. If anyone is looking for a great getaway retreat by the way, this is well worth checking out http://www.fourstoneshouse.co.uk/barn.htm
